Did you ever read a story to your kids, got to the last page and thought, What Was The Point of This Story? It was slightly entertaining, but we learned nothing, it had NO POINT.
If you did, then you are in the same boat we were in when we started this venture.
We are muslim parents with a STEM background, living in the west with young kids. And almost everyday, we read a story to them. Most books are either there to entertain, or just teach concepts of nature such as names of animals, etc. But we needed books that teach both useful knowledge, like children documentary album books, as well as weave in moral values and islam.
But no book did it ALL.
We are able to rent all the books we want at the library for free, like in most western countries, but none of them had exactly what we wanted. And the TIME cost was too much. We had no bandwidth to read all these books, as we are often left with 30min at the end of each day in order to move slightly forward on our #1 priority, our kids education.
If you are like us, then we created this venture to serve you.
Our promise to you, is that you will not have to suffer through another badly designed muslim book, that you find boring, and not particularly useful. That you will finally find muslim resources that DO IT ALL. Science, Morals, and Religion.
We're a muslim family who likes to be outdoors—whether we're biking in the spring, skiing in the winter, or simply having a picnic by the river. We do no screens at home except on rare occasions, and prefer to either read books or be outside.
Islam lives in our heart, but as far as appearances go, our lifestyle is akin to that of many westerners. We seek to have the best of both worlds—striving to keep and cherish our southern muslim country culture, but also embody the values and driven mindset we love in the west.
Our storybooks are a testament to the mindset we uphold, and the lifestyle we live by. Most of our books will feature beautiful natural scenery, because that's what our travels and adventures are about. That's what we find beautiful in our surroundings; God's creation.
And since we have a STEM background, we can't help but include science and knowledge facts in our books. But it's not about pushing more facts for our children to remember, it's about helping them ask the right questions, and keep an inquisitive mindset.
In a world that's getting more technologically advanced by the day, we help kids develop the one thing no machine will ever be good about—asking the right questions. Knowing HOW to think for themselves, instead being told WHAT to think by someone else in authority.
